NRA High Power Tournament on 2/25/2012 and 2/26/2012 Cancelled

The High Power Rifle discipline of the Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club has decided to cancel the NRA High Power Tournament event scheduled for February 25 and 26, 2012, due to low attendance this year.

The High Power Rifle discipline will hold its usuall match on Sunday morning, February 26, 2012 starting at 8 AM. The members range will be closed until completion of the match.

USMC Training onFriday, 2/24/2012 and Monday, 2/27/2012 Cancelled

The U.S. Marines had to cancel the use our known distance range for training on Friday, 2/24/2012 and Monday, 2/27/2012, due to lack of funding. Themember side of the range will be open both days.

NDOW Hunter Safety Class, March 17, 2012

The Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club will host a Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) Hunter Safety Class on March 17, 2012. Per the NDOW web site, "Anyone born after January 1, 1960 is required to provide proof of Hunter Education, in order to purchase a Nevada hunting license." Special Range Orientation Date, February 21, 2012

On February 21, 2012 at 10 AM, the Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club will hold a range orientation for new members who cannot attend the normal range orientation held on the first Saturday of the month. The range orientation is open to all new members, not just to those who cannot make the Satruday orientation.

Steel Challenge hosted by Venture Scouts (Members pits closed)

A Steel Challenge will be held by Venture Crew 45 using the member range bays on 2/18/2012. The event registration is between 7:45 and 8:15 AM with the event starting at 8:00 AM. Annual Club Meeting and Board Elections 1/7/2012

The Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club will hold its annual club meeting and election of Board Officers at 6 PM, on January 7, 2012, on the range in the new training building. The business meeting will include a report on the state of the club and election of board officers, followed by dinner provided by the club. Membership dues for 2012 will be accepted at the meeting.

Range Closed 1/15-17/2012 for Shot Show Media Day

The Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club will once again host the Shot Show Media Day on January 16, 2012. The event will require a full day for set and take down, resulting in the entire range to be closed January 15, 16 and 17, 2012. The Shot Show Media Day is closed to the public, which includes club members, and is open to the members of the media by invitation only.

Added Two new Affiliation Organizations to the Links Page

The Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club has added two new affiliation organizations to the links page, both groups support the shooting sports and the Board of the Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club has voted to join each group as a club level membership. Individual Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club members may join both organizations as individuals.

The Nevada Firearms Coalition is a membership organization designated by the National Rifle Association as the State Association for Nevada and is a registered Nevada nonprofit corporation. The stated goals of the Nevada Firearms Coalition is:

Our members are dedicated firearms owners, users, public and private gun clubs, shooting ranges, and commercial shooting sports enterprises who are interested in promoting and protecting the ownership and safe use of firearms for self-defense, for establishing, hosting and participating in competitive firearms events and general recreational shooting. We also want to protect the natural resources in order to continue to enjoy the outdoor shooting sports including hunting and informal outdoor target shooting.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the firearms industry. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports. Formed in 1961, NSSF has a membership of more than 6,000 manufacturers, distributors, firearms retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen's organizations and publishers. The National Shooting Sports Foundation mission statement is:
