Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club Meeting 06/07/2014

The Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club will holds its summer membership informational meeting and BBQ on Jun 07, 2014 at 6 PM in the Boulder City Masonic Hall located at 901 Arizona St, Boulder City, NV. The club will provide hamburgers, hot dogs and cake. Members are requested to bring a side dish to share.

Volunteers Welcome to Help with the BBQ and Meeting

A few volunteers to assit with putting on the summer BBQ club meeting are welcome, as well as needed. Your club needs some of its members to step and help with:

Some kitche help with preparing the hamburger fixings
Others to help with the grocgery pickup
A cook to run the grill
Setup and take down
Transport of items from range storage to the Boulder City Masonic Hall

If you can help with any of the above, please contact John Sneed at Anyone willing to help with the grocery pickup will need to be available at 4 PM to meet at the store, range storage pickuup to be completed by 5 PM and the everyone else at 5 PM at the Boulder City Masonic Hall.

High Power program will hold a long range wind reading class on 06/22/2014

The BRPC High Power program will hold a long range wind reading class on Sunday, June 22nd, commencing at 08:00 in the target pit area.

The class will begin with an introduction to basic concepts and strategies on wind reading and wind affects in high power rifle shooting. It will continue with an experienced instructor shooting at 600 yards while explaining what he is observing regarding the wind conditions (mirage and wind flags) and the adjustments he is making before each shot. The students will be seated behind the instructor observing the mirage and wind to actually see what the instructor is describing before and after each of his shots. Each student will also be given an opportunity to read the wind and give his recommended wind corrections for the shooting instructor.

May 2014 3-Gun Match moved to 05/16/2014

May 2014 3-Gun Match will be held on May 16, 2014, FRIDAY NIGHT at 9 PM. Set up begins at 6:30 PM. Please check the webpage for other possible changes to the summer schedule.

New 200 Yard Bay and Shotgun Area Update

Earth work on the new 200 Yard Bay, number 11, has been completed. Bay 11 is currently open to the public on as is bases unless work is being done to complete the facility. Work to be completed includes adding a target key way, shelter and shooting benches.

The shotgun area on the courtesy range has been realigned and is now open for use.

Best Shoot by a Dam Site 05/02-04/2014

Setting up for the Best Shoot by a Dam Site will start about 10:00 AM on Friday, May 2, 2014 in the five 100 yard member bays and the 25 yard bays will be roped off, due to the fact that there will be approximately 90 shooters for Saturday and Sunday and the Eldorado Cowboys will not be able to police other shooters during the event. The shooting is expected to be done mid-afternoon on Sunday, May 4, 2014 with clean up to follow immediately. Full use of the members‘ will be available on Monday, May 5, 2014.

It is anticipating to be about 15 to 20 campers for this event. The campers will start arriving on Friday afternoon and into the evening hours. Starting Friday afternoon, cables will be placed across the courtesy bay entrances and locked along with all of the gates with the exception of the main gate and the gate to the members‘ area. The sign on the gate will be dropped to advise everyone that the members‘ area is closed due to a special event.

The shooters that are camping will be asked to question anyone who comes up to shoot after the Eldorado Cowboys leave on Friday regarding their membership. If they can show a membership card, they will be instructed to use the courtesy bays. The combination on the gates to the courtesy range will be set to the same as the main gate.

Event 11 100 target handicap Kenneth bush shot a score of 92 out of 100 in the wind but lost shoot off winning sub vet with that score of 92
