RIP: John Sneed

It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that we must now report that John H. Sneed III, life member of the Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club, passed away on May 2, 2019.

John was born on March 14, 1956 in Pontiac, MI and served his country in the United States Navy. John was an avid gamer and inveterate traveler. He was also a founding member of the Boulder City United Methodist Church.

John is survived by his sister, Cheryl Sneed and brother, Andrew Sneed. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Sneed.

As an active NRA Training Counselor and a long-term life-time BRPC member, John selflessly dedicated a good part of his life to advancing the interests of BRPC and all of our members.

John was a very active member of BRPC having served more than a decade as a director. During that time he started our first webpage, organized and lead the training department, worked with the youth group, participated with several of the disciplines, and assisted in range operations.

Through the years, John fostered many new NRA Firearms Instructors and Range Safety Officers, and most importantly John kept our Juniors Program alive through it all. Truly a great legacy!

Thank you for all that you’ve done, John. You left us too early. We will miss you. Rest in peace.

Memorial service will be held in the chapel at the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr. Boulder City, NV on Wednesday, May 29 at 2:00. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at
